National Cadet league 2

The young cadet team of Luca and Leo Pontone, Jack Jacomb and Connor Elston bolstered by the addition of Rob Renton took the trip to Billingham for the 2nd round of matches of the national cadet league. First up was one of the favourites Ormesby A. The team of Rob, Luca and Jack  found Ormesby too strong going down 7-2 after some close matches. Rob Picked up the 2 win a 3-0 win and a tough 3-2 win over an inspired Charlotte Weatherby. Jack Jacomb again had tussle with Charlotte coming back from 2-0 down to bring the match back to all level before going down in the 5th . The boys brushed them self’s down and got back up to play Darlington Academy. Rob and jack picking up 3 wins each and Connor, picking up his first win. Connor was unlucky not to win 2 narrowly losing in the 5th in his 1st match.   Final match of the day was against Northfield B. Leo making his first appearance of the day played his normal brand of crowd pleasing table tennis found his opponents a bit to experienced but did managed to take ends of players. Rob picked up 2 wins but tired as the day went on and was not at his best in his last match, Connor who got better as the day went on picked up a fantastic win over the much more experienced Amy Webster. A good showing from the team from Bishop with some promising sighs for the future for the young team
