National Cadet League
Following on from a long day’s play Saturday, the 4 national cadet league teams started the second round of matches.
The young D team started the day with a 8-1 win over Ryedale, Young Nathen Burton who has been playing only a month made his debut and picked up two wins. That unfortunately was the only win for the D team losing to Darlington B, before losing to the Bishop C team before going down to Ormseby C but Nathen Picked up a further 2 wins to get himself a national ranking.
The C team were more successful, starting with a 9-0 win over Ormseby D which saw 10-year-old Anya Milne score 3 wins and a national ranking. The C team then lost to Ormseby C 6-3 in a tight match, before getting back to winning ways beating the D team 6-3 and a 9-0 win over Ryedale to round off the day.
In the first division the B team were also having a tough day. Starting with a heavy defeat to Northumbria, before recovering to beat Northfield 9-0. Blitz who were 2nd in the league were too strong as were Darlington.
The A team who started the day top of the Table Started with a top of the table clash with Blitz, With Bishop coming out 6-3 winners Max Duffin coming away with a hat trick. The team followed up with two 9-0 wins over Darlington and Ormseby B. Last match of the day saw a 7-2 victory over Ormseby A. The table sees Bishop A currently top by 8 points at the half way stage.
