Young siblings rock Blackpool.

8-year-old and 11-year-old siblings Ben and Amy Mold surpassed expectation at the recent Blackpool two star. Ben who was another 3 years in the under 11 category, played well but lost out Gene McGhee and Jo Cooper in the group but beat Kate Watkinson and was in the plate event. The semis finals saw Ben beat Abraham Sellodo from Yorkshire to reach the final but found Beth Ellis too strong going down in 4 games. Unranked Amy was not to be out done by her younger sibling, playing in the u13’s she also ended up in the plate event losing out to higher ranked players in the group but beat Katie Smith. The Quarter finals saw Amy beat Rachel Lister from Lancashire in 5 tense games. Amy’s semi-final was a lot smoother with a 3-0 victory over Eve Clement who is ranked 58th in England.   The final was against Niamh Scarborough from Cheshire who was too strong for Amy winning in 3 games. James Neil, Lee Tinkler and Jamie Collins also made the trip to Blackpool. Jamie continued his good form despite ending up in the pate event again he reached the semi-finals just being denied a second final running. James and Lee reached the main event and drew each other in the last 16 with Lee coming out on top to reach the quarter finals, where he beat Harry Stephens from Nottingham before losing in 4 to Daniel Olsberg.
