Semis at Sycamore 2star

Continuing the good results at Nottingham, Anya Milne, Lee Tinkler and Sam Hume all took part in the Nottingham Sycamore 2 star.

First up was Anya in the Cadet girls singles. A group with England number 4 Darcie Proud looked a hard task, but Anya made it through as runner up and through to the quarter finals where she then lost out to the 3rd seed and England number 11 Megan Jones

The afternoon saw the u13’s for Anya where she was seeded 3rd. Anya made light work of her group, winning to book a place in the quarters vs Isabelle Lacorte ranked just behind Anya at 14th in England. Anya didn’t take any chances and 3-0 win saw her make the semis and a match vs Hong Kong player Hang Ying Choong who had beaten second seed in the group, and was too strong for Anya, winning in 3.

Sam Hume and Lee Tinkler both took part in the Junior boy’s singles, and both made it through their groups, with Sam scoring a win over a player ranked 50 places higher than him. However, Lee had a hiccup and lost to a lower ranked player, but both made it through to the quarter finals where they faced each other. Lee came out victor to reach the Semis, where the second seed was too strong for him.
