The first days play of the seasons National Cadet League took place last weekend. With 5 of the 9 players making their debuts it was very much a new generation of players for the club.

The B team of Jack Anderson with Jake Bewley and Benji Moore both making their debuts. The A team then beat the clubs C team of Lucy Whales, Charlotte Higgins and Eleanor Oreilly, with all three girls making their debuts, 9-0 too.
The C team had a 9-0 loss to Darlington Dolphins in the first round which was closer than the score lines suggests with all the girls taking sets.
The B team who, had a tough run of fixtures, in the second round went down 8-1 to Scarborough A, the early season favourites, with Jake getting the win, they also went down 8-1 to Ormesby A in the third round, again Jake getting the win. A 9-0 loss in final round to early leaders Darlington Academy A.
The C team lost all their next two games 9-0 to Ormesby 1 and Darlington Academy A but the girls showed great attitudes and learnt a lot from the experience.
