Cor bylimey Matthew

With the 17/18 season coming to a close, Matthew Pearson took the long trip down to Northampton to play in the Corby 1star. The day started with the under 15’s, Matthew the 3rd highest ranked player in the group, finished according to ranking and found him self in the plate. This however is where Matthew decided to throw the ranking book out the window. The last 16 saw Matthew beat a local player just below him on the ranking to reach the quarters, where he had to play another Northamptonshire player Ben Aldridge ranked 134th in England some 174 places above Matt. A clearly not effected Matthew pulled out a fantastic win to reach the semi-finals.

The semis again saw a higher ranked player waiting with Matthew again pulling out a great victor to reach his second final in his last two events.

Determined not to come out second best this time Matthew pulled out another unexpected win over Bedfordshire’s Tom Nicol 40 places above him to take the cadet plate winners title.

The afternoon saw the under 18’s event where matthew picked up two wins in his group and narrowly going down in the 5th to he top seed Cameron Leighton. Matthew Reached the last 16 before going down.

A great day for matt showing that his hard work in training is paying dividends
