East Midlands 4 star

East Midlands 4 star

Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Youngsters took no time at all in 2018 to get back into the competitive spirit Anya Milne, Luke Mitchell, Jake Haygarth, Adam Hanby and Lee Tinkler travelled down to Northampton for the East Midlands 4 star.  The Under 13’s saw Jake Haygarth win his group and make it to the last 16 before going out to the 6th seed. Luke Mitchell found going tough in a strong group but did push the overall winner 12-10 in the first set before going down. Anya Milne also made it through her group and to the Quarter finals before losing to Anna Hursey from Wales who is one of the best u13s in the world. The Grade 1 saw no wins for the boys, but Anya scored a win over a higher ranked player and made it to the last 32. The Cadets saw both Luke and Adam up against strong players. Adam not scoring any wins this time, but Luke narrowly lost out to England number 18, 12-10 in the 5th Set in a great performance before beating a player 40 places about him to go home with a great win.  The Sunday saw Lee Tinkler take part n the Grade 1 Juniors and Junior Boys. Lee started by winning his group in the Grade 1 before a 3 and a half hour wait to play his next round which saw lee struggle to get going and lost. The Junior saw him also have another bad game but thanks to point to prove performance he made it though to the last 32 before losing
