New Lockdown Rules - Over 18's

Sessions Update – New Government Rules
On Thursday 1st October, the Government released new lockdown rules for the North East which came into effect that evening.

The new rules are

  • Over 18’s can only take part in indoor sport or physical activity when playing with someone from their own household or support bubble.
  • Clubs in one of these areas should not host sessions for anyone over the age of 18, unless they are from the same household or support bubble
  • U18’s and/or adults with a disability can continue to take part in indoor sport with other participants from outside their own household, in bubbles of no more than 15
  • Over 18’s should not travel outside of their area to take part in indoor sport

This means, we have had to pause all our adult sessions and ask adults in attendance to our performance sessions to no longer attend.

As a club we are not happy about this, having spend a lot of time, effort and money to make the club as safe as possible for EVERYONE, while trying to encourage people back into the club after the first lockdown, While making efforts in the recruitment of new players of all ages.

These new rules we feel are unfair to many indoor grass roots community sports clubs who do so much great work for so many people across so many areas, who like us have made the effort to follow the rules to get people back active to combat the negative effects of lockdown.

That said, we fully understand and will fully support these rules, which have come into place and the need to keep everyone safe in these strange and uncertain times and fight the infections in the North East.

These new restrictions will unfortunately add further financial strains to the club, we will continue to look for support where we can externally to help ensure we can continue to offer the same offer service to you the members and the community. Once again if you feel you can help either running some fundraising or know someone who maybe able to help please get in touch.

To our adult members and users please stay in touch, if you feel its something of interest, we can set up a weekly zoom meeting or quiz, maybe some workshops?  We do have some loan tables we can look to loan you if you have space at home to play. Just get in touch.

We hope to see you back very soon

Matt
